If you’re thinking about starting a YouTube channel but don’t know where to start, then you’re in the right place. Starting a YouTube channel isn’t as hard as it looks. And the best part is, because of multiple AI tools, you don’t have to show your face or spend hours editing the video. You just need to know the right steps (and a few clever AI tools) to make the process a lot more faster and easier.
So, in this post, I’ll walk you through everything, from picking a profitable and trending channel niche to creating content using free AI tools and uploading your video the right way to get more views and engagements.
Step 1: Pick a Niche
First things first, you need to find a niche to get into. A niche is basically the topic your channel will focus on. You don’t want to create a channel that posts everything from sports to stories and gameplay videos. That will only confuse your audience and may hamper your channel’s growth as well.
I have a good news for you! I have found an insanely profitable channel niche that can be replicated using AI tools.
There’s a channel called Extinct Zoo that creates videos about prehistoric animals. It has 730,000 subscribers and over 123 million views with just 94 total videos.
According to multiple sources, this channel is making somewhere between $5,000-$45,000 every single month, just by posting AI generated videos about ancient creatures. Crazy, right?
So, in this video, I’ll show you how you can create a channel similar to this one and how you can use free AI tools to create content for it.
Step 2: Set Up Your Channel
We have found a great niche to get into so now, it’s time to create our channel. Here’s what to do:
- Pick a Name
- If you can’t come up with a good name idea for your channel, then just ask ChatGPT to generate it. You can type: “Can you suggest 20 cool YouTube channel names for a channel about prehistoric animals (or whatever your niche is)?” Then, ChatGPT will come up with unique channel ideas for you!
- Write a Channel Description
- Your description should explain what your channel is about, but also include keywords related to your niche. This helps YouTube recommend your content to the right people.
- Create a Logo & Banner
- You can design a logo and banner for your channel super easily with free AI tools like Leonardo AI or Canva. The creator of the above channel made a snake head logo and matching banner so, you can also create something similar to that.
- Add Tags to Your Channel
- After creating your logo and banner, you need to add relevant keywords to your channel. You can use ChatGPT to generate 15 niche-related tags. For example, if you’re making prehistoric content, your tags might include “dinosaurs,” “extinct animals,” and “prehistoric creatures.” After you get your keywords, you can go to your channel’s settings in computer or desktop mode if you’re doing it on mobile and paste the tags in the ‘‘Channel Keywords‘ section.
- Warm Up Your Channel
- This is a sneaky but important step. Don’t upload a video right away after creating your channel otherwise, your each and every video will get stuck on 0 views for a long time.
- For the first week, use your channel like a regular user. Watch, like, and comment on other videos in your niche. This helps YouTube to know that you’re a real human, not a bot trying to spam low-quality content.
Step 3: Creating Content
Here’s comes the fun part, which is making videos! Don’t worry, you don’t need to record yourself or even show your face. AI will do it all for you!
- Find Video Ideas
- You can use a tool like Tube Magic to find what’s working for other channels in your niche or you can also ask ChatGPT to brainstorm ideas for you.
- Create Your Video Script
- Once you have a video idea, you use Tube Magic or ChatGPT to create an engaging script in seconds. A 1,600-word script is required to create a 8 minutes long video. You can add mid-roll ads only on videos longer than 8 minutes so, try to reach atleast 8 minutes in video length.
- Create Voiceover for Your Video
- At this point, your script is ready. Now, you need to create a voiceover using that script. To do that, you can use ElevenLabs. ElevenLabs is a free text-to-speech tool that can generate realistic, human-like voiceovers from text.
- To create your voiceover, head on to ElevenLabs.io. Then, click on ‘Get Started Free’ option to create your voiceover. There, you can paste your script, pick a voice you like, and hit ‘Generate’. That’s it! Your voice is ready!
- Gather Video Clips & Images
- You can grab free stock footage from sites like Pexels or make AI-generated images and videos with Leonardo AI. We’ll use these clips to create our video.
Step 4: Edit the Video
Now that you have all your pieces; script, voiceover, and visuals, it’s time to put them together. To do that, we’ll use a free video editing tool called CapCut.
- Use CapCut
- Set your video ratio to 16:9 (standard YouTube size). Import your voiceover and add your footage.
- Add Captions
- CapCut has an auto-caption feature, which makes it super fast and easy to generate captions. Make the captions bold, yellow, with a black outline to grab attention.
- Add Background Music
- Pick a nice background track and lower the volume so your voiceover sounds clean and clear.
Step 5: Make a Click-Worthy Thumbnail
Your thumbnail is the first thing people notice about your video, so it has to pop!
- You can create the background image for your thumbnail with Leonardo AI.
- Then, you can use Canva to add texts and some other effects to it. Canva makes it super easy to do these things. Keep your text bold, colorful, and easy to read. Then, download your thumbnail from Canva.
Step 6: Upload Your Video
At this point, you’re almost done! Here’s how to upload your video like a pro:
Upload as Unlisted First – this gives you time to optimize your video, which includes adding keywords, adding it to a relevant playlist, writing description, etc.
Step 7: Be Consistent
Did you know, the secret hack to grow on YouTube is consistency. YouTube rewards channels that posts regularly. In the beginning, try to upload 4 videos a week (20 videos a month). The more you post, the faster you grow.
Final Thoughts
Starting a YouTube channel might feel overwhelming at first, but once you break it down into steps, it’s actually pretty simple. Plus, with AI tools doing the heavy lifting (script, voiceover, editing, thumbnails), you can make videos faster than ever.
So, what are you waiting for? Go create your channel and start posting!
